Addiction is subtle sometimes, other times it is bright, blaring, even shiny. this is the beginning of the monkey socks from knitty.com, it took me hardly any time at all to knit an inch of twisted rib, and as I went I fell in love with the yarn. Which is Artsygal's superwash merino sock yarn in Laffy Taffy. I love how the yellow never overlaps, I love how squoosy the yarn is, I love the greens, I love the bright sunshiny candy colors you never see in nature.
I waited until later to start the lace, and as soon as I did I was hooked again, this is the first 2 repeats, done that evening while I watched Dirty Jobs & LA Ink. I did another before I went to class this morning, I did another between my classes later on, I'm in the middle of the 4th repeat, I have stopped looking at the chart. The repeats are lacy but totally easy, and the yarn performs beautifully, no pilling, splitting, pooling, knots or breaks. just heavenly and green in the dry drought stricken place I live in.

Wow, thats working up great! I have some Risata that I want to make into a pair of Monkeys - I just have to swatch. Yeah, I wasnt in class today - I had a killer migraine. Mid afternoon I was feeling better, though, and I ended up going and getting some more dye. It's hot as hell out, though, and I hope this heat breaks soon. :-p
Ooh, it looks great. I love that yarn, and the pattern is so fun, isnt it?
OOH! gorgeous! I love her sock yarn. Mine totally pooled but I'm going to blame my fat feet/legs. Everything will pool at some point.
That bright green is nice! The dead brown everything makes me sad too.
Thanks! I'm glad the colors don't just look good in my head and no one elses. Makes me feel more confident about the project.
