process pt 1

I am a spinner for Crown Mountain Farms, which is a job I love. Spinning is my zen... I get paid for zen.

The first part of my process is to take a picture of each new color I get... this is all for me and my happy.

Next I take the big skein of pencil roving and split it into 1 foot sections which I mix together well to avoid big chunks of color in one spot. This only takes about 5 or 10 minutes tops. I store the fiber I'm working in a mesh hatbox that squishes down well and is easy to carry if I am working on my wheel upstairs.
